Last week, we received honest feedback from Kendra, a guest visiting Winnipeg from Vancouver. For many hosts, critical feedback can feel like a gut punch—a blemish on an otherwise stellar record. But we chose to see it differently.

We always encourage our guests to reach out with any concerns during their stay. A conversation can solve almost any issue in real-time. A finicky shower knob? We could have walked Kendra through the quirks or sent someone over to help. But we understand that guests don't always feel comfortable speaking up, or sometimes issues only become apparent in hindsight.

Within 48 hours of receiving Kendra's review, we didn't just respond with words—we took action:
Transforming the Shower Experience
We're really excited about this one. Our home has incredible 1950s character, but that doesn't mean the bathroom experience should stay in the 1950s. We're transforming the shower into a modern spa-like experience—think rainfall shower heads, multiple massage jets, and premium amenities that would make any boutique hotel jealous.
While the physical size of the shower isn't something we can change yet, we can absolutely elevate the experience within that space. No more finicky knobs. No more compromises. Just a luxurious, relaxing shower experience that brings our mid-century home into modern times while maintaining its vintage charm.
Elevating the Decor
Kendra appreciated our home's character, which told us we're on the right track—but we can do better. We immediately ordered:
- Premium throw blankets in sage green, dark green, and yellow (soft, plush, and cozy)
- Boho corduroy decorative throw pillow covers
- A large framed world map canvas art piece for the master bedroom
- Stainless steel wine glasses for a touch of elegance
