Winnipeg summers run hot, and on the warmest days you don't need to go far from the Corydon/Crescentwood Airbnb to cool off. A few cold drinks, one air-conditioned stop, and a shaded park cover most of a hot afternoon.

Cold drinks without leaving Corydon Avenue

Thom Bargen Coffee Roasters (743 Corydon Ave) is a reliable stop for iced coffee and cold brew. A couple of doors down, The Mighty Kiwi Juice Bar & Eatery (709 Corydon Ave) does smoothies and fresh juice if you want something fruitier than coffee. Sugar + Salt Bakeshoppe (897 Corydon Ave) is worth a stop too if you'd rather grab something sweet to go and keep walking in the shade of the storefronts along the strip.

An air-conditioned afternoon

If the heat gets to be too much, The Leaf at Assiniboine Park is the best indoor option in the area. Its tropical and Mediterranean biomes are climate-controlled year-round, and as of this summer the site is open daily from 9am to 9pm, with paid admission to the biomes (the surrounding gardens are free to walk). Shade and a slower pace nearby

Assiniboine Park's mature tree canopy and riverbank paths make for a much cooler walk than the open sidewalks downtown. Closer to the Airbnb, Enderton Park (Peanut Park) has enough shade trees around its playground and benches to make a good spot to sit with a cold drink from Corydon Avenue rather than carrying it home.
